Summary

For a young person growing up on Hagiv who dreams of joining the Party and serving the greater good, there are plenty of opportunities in Szasz. If you want to be in the army or navy, there's Nagev's Glory. For those with more of a mercantile bent, there's North Gavek.

And if you fail to make it in any of those places, there's always Tavoli Halasz.

Tavoli Halasz is generally seen by the rest of Hagiv as a lawless place full of pirates, foreigners, and other unsavory types. They're not entirely wrong. It's where the Party sends those officials too corrupt to promote and too well-connected to arrest. It's a great place to start a career at sea. Just drink at the wrong tavern and you could find yourself waking up on a merchantman headed for Kaza Orok.

History

Tavoli Halasz was originally built as a fishing town in northern Hagiv and has slowly moved to the shore as the shore has receded away from it. In the fifth century DB, it began trading with Kaza Orok in strict contravention of Hagivi and Thalassan law. When the war against the Thalassan occupation heated up, Tavoli Halasz became a back door for goods that couldn't get in through blockaded ports. Tavoli traders also traded with the Cap, Anover and Avari. As part of an accord signed in 511 DB, the Tavoli gave up their trade routes with the Cap to North Gavek.
