Sidhe-Demon War

Ages before the rise of humans on Tierra, war erupted between demons and the sidhe of the Winterlands and the Summerlands. The relentless expansion of the Devouring Void began to cause breaches into the Winterlands and, a century later, the Summerlands. This led the sidhe (majority residents of both invaded planes) to fight first to establish permanent beachheads in nearby planes that could be reached by breach, then to expand the war to include a general fight against demons (which manifest the Devouring Void) wherever they could be driven out.

As the sidhe live millennia and the war has raged on for more than fifty-thousand years, the notion of having soldiers serve continually doesn’t work. Even among the warborn sidhe, roughly a third of their life is spent on sabbatical.

One way those sidhe on sabbatical to continue to contribute to the war era is to travel to planes that abut the demonlands and either have been or are soon to be breached and to provide training and artifacts to sentient beings who live there in order that they might fight the coming demons themselves and help the sidhe prevent the expansion of the Ravening Void and the Outer Dark.
