Sunstone

The Sunstone, originally known as the Essential Stone was one of the four Essential Gifts. Given to Queen Cyrene, it was a radiant source of energy that allowed her to become a powerful sorceress while leeching magic into the previously unmagickal world.

After the Chaosborn War, Cyrene brought it to Caldera Lake for study by the Caldera Academy and eventually sank it beneath the waves. She founded the Sunstone Wardens to be caretakers for it.

At the behest of First Warden Ambrose D'Orosse, the wardens retrieved it in the twenty-fourth year of the Cataclysm, brought it to First Daybreak, and set it atop the Sunspire. As humanity regains control over Tierra, its placement becomes the causus belli of two wars until, in 53 DB, Oros shatters it, dying in the process and shattering the Sunspire.
