Since the Cataclysm caused the oceans to rise dramatically, the only land above sea level is in the form of islands, the largest of which, Bitu-en-Sul, covers about a million square miles north of the Ring of Fire. Thousands of islands exist and hundreds have people on them. This is not a comprehensive list.

Anover and Avari

Anover and Avari are two islands slowly joining each other as the waters recede, one ruled by a thaumocracy, the other by the Gegenzauberer, a group that has forbidden all unsanctioned magic and purged itself of magic users as best it could.

Bitu-en-Sul

Bitu-en-Sul is the largest island in the Thalassan Sphere. More than 3.5 million square miles of it jut out of the Ring of Fire and possibly half again that much is an uninhabitable wasteland below the fifteenth parallel.

Cenwulf Protectorates

The Cenwulf Protectorates are a chain of islands in the southern part of the Rim. A stable, cosmopolitan society that came through the Cataclysm with their decency intact, they are the height of civilization in the Thalassan Sphere. Just ask them. They'll tell you.

The Dragonfires

Hagiv

Hagiv is an island of roughly 100,000 square miles, less than 2,000 miles from the Cap, Hagiv is a closed society run by a Glorious Leader and a Revolutionary Council. Following the Cataclysm, Hagiv was a monarchy. It became a Thalassan protectorate in 126 DB. Between 488 and 520, it underwent two violent civil wars, which led to the current administration.

The Sea of Mists

The Sea of Mists is a misty area of ocean more than six thousand miles across, west of Thalassa and east of the Dragonfires. Somewhere, it hides whatever is left of the continent Enbarra. Sailors who set out for Enbarra speak of all sorts of strange mishaps keeping them from finding it.

The Weirding Isles

The Weirding Isles are a chain of islands close to Tearra Rift. The largest of these islands, Lagoa, was a demon stronghold during the Cataclysm and is still home to many strange and dire magics.

Lesser Islands

The Thalassan Sphere is home to literally thousands on unmapped, unknown islands, many of which are inhabited by people and creatures that have been cut off from the larger society for centuries.
