Summary
Kovar Remeny was a set of stone fortifications built above ground outside of the dwarven mines at Kistestvere Mountain starting in 4927 FYA. In 4933, Agronn Ironhand allowed the goblin hordes under Girax the Extinguisher to overrun the city in a deliberate ruse to get them to chase the main human and dwarven forces into the tunnels below the mountain. There, the humans looped back around the goblins, fled the mountain, and collapsed the main entrance to the mines.
In 5 DB, Chaosborn Turuq the Defiler, fleeing defeat in Vyz took control of the goblin forces on Hagiv and overran Kovar Remeny, forcing the surviving dwarves and humans to flee under the mountain and seal themselves in. He and his forces held the city until 16 DB. After that, humans settle in the fort and build the city of Daybreak there.
Most of Kovar Remeny remains intact, part of Daybreak even today, but it's largely uninhabited and viewed as haunted.
