Li's birth and life on Tierra

Li Stardancer (frequently called the Bright Lady) is Jieh's first deliberate creation. When he started to realize that he would never be able to destroy all the order he had inadvertently created, he longed for a companion worthy of his glory. To create her, he shattered a thousand stars, drew out their essences, and combined them into the form of a woman.

Li fought Jieh at first, but she lacked the power to destroy Jieh. She left him wounded and ran. He caught up with her. She wounded him again and ran. Over and over the cycle repeated until it became a dance unto itself. For millenia, Li would lead him on a chase and he would pursue her, forgetting to destroy the ever-growing order around him. Sometimes, they would dance and their steps would send the galaxies crashing into each other in catastrophes unheralded in scale. None can say if they even knew the chaos they left in their wake.

Although they danced, it was not until Li slipped away from Jieh and came close to Tierra that she heard music for the first time. She followed the sound and came down to listen to Yan the Starsinger. She loved him and, for thirty-three years, they lived as husband and wife in peace. Li bore him three daughters, Xi, Pranna, and Goa.

The Chaosborn War

Once Jieh realized Li was gone and had hidden herself from him, he created the Chaosborn and sent them to find her. It was Thoth Chaosborn who found her but, rather than report back to Jieh, Thoth decided to claim Li for himself. Thus began the Chaosborn War.

After the war, Li drags the essence of Thoth Chaosborn to the Heart of Chaos and binds him there, keeping him from returning to Jieh and revealing the whereabouts of Tierra. Then, she goes to challenge Jieh again, bringing with her twenty-two new immortal companions known as the Stardancers.

The Boon Companions

Throughout their life together, Li and Yan accumulate a close circle of friends with ties to the arts. As a parting gift for their loyalty, Li makes them immortal. While they aren't full gods on their own, they do hear prayers and can link divine casters to Li.
