View source for Great Library at Caldera Academy

The Great Library at Caldera Academy is the greatest collection of books on history and the arcane outside of the [[Great Library of Iona]] and even contains a few books considered too dangerous to be shared with that institution. It also contains the [[Essential Tome]].

The building itself is over 10,000 years old and warded with spells a hundred levels deep. [[Goa]], daughter of [[Li Stardancer]] oversaw the warding of the first library and many of her techniques have been maintained or refined in the intervening years. A joke commonly repeated by the staff is that, when [[Jieh]] destroys [[Tierra]], the library will float among the stars intact.

Access to the Great Library is strictly limited, but much of its information is transcribed and the copies stored in the [[Lesser Library at Caldera Academy|Lesser Library]], which is freely accessible to students and staff at the Academy and for a suitable donation to those with friendly or better [[reputation]] with the Academy.
